From mdmd to the teams but of interest to anyone who may come along later that doesn't see the emails. - I have posted the ACU brexit transition info as a separate post in this forum alread.
......

British teams need to be aware of recent information issued by the ACU to guide you with regard to driving in Europe after Brexit.

Federations from Germany, Holland, Italy, France, Slovakia and the Czech Republic have all opted out of the FIM insurance scheme. This means that riders and passengers whose licences originated in any of these federations must ensure they are properly insured through their Federation or have additional personal accident insurance that enables full repatriation and care in the event of a serious accident and must supply proof of this alongside their licence information to organizers at each event.

Hmm. So if you have an ACU licence, and normally buy a weekend 'guest' licence at an EU event, does this mean we need to get this accident insurance and repatriation cover?

Far as I know - certainly for Gedinne - if you take out the "event licence " & insurance - reasonably sure it covers re-patriation - however - things might be a whole lot different in the future due to brex*t & health insurance I guess will be a different thing due to Covid - I'd be surprised if we don't see some big changes....costs and availability / viability of meetings...

I don’t really know about Belgian «One Event Licence», but I think it’s the same as such a French licence : it’s considered as a National Licence. So the repatriation would be inside the borders of the country !!!
There is a French insurance company that insure repatriation after incident from everywhere in Europe (at least) to home for «dangerous» sports as motorcycling. Maybe this kind of company would exist in the UK. In addition with «One Event Licence».

Fanch - here's the relevant section from the Gedinne SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS from 2019
It doesn't say any more than that - but I have been told verbally that it included "home country" - although that may be true - or not & could change in future - I do hope we'll be able to race in europe in the future - although I fear it may be a lot more difficult - if not impossible due to extra costs - (insurance, health, ATA carnets etc, etc)

Art. 04 – Licences (see ‘Règlement Classic Bike’ FMB-BMB : www.fmb-bmb.be )
A licence is requested for each category, also in de ‘Parade’.
You have 3 possibilities :
- FMB national or international licence Classic Bike
- The classic bike licence of your national federation; international or national with start permission
- A ‘One event’ licence that has to be requested via de FMB-BMB website www.fmb-bmb.be (80€
including insurance for repatriation, + 10€ if ‘paper’ request).
