Qualifying one report from Wally
FIM Sidecar World Championship.
Assen,
Qualifying One.
The first qualifying session at Assen was held under bright sunshine, a slight breeze, just perfect.
It was quite busy at times with teams trying to get some free track for fast laps, but all went well for all.
Once again it was Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau who set the fastest time, the team were happy with this, their time was 1:45.171.
Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes set the second fastest time, they were really happy with this; they have still to put new rubber on, so they hope they will be able to go faster with this. Their time was 1:45.260.
Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement made some adjustments to their machine after free practice, these adjustments seemed to help, they set the third fastest time a 1:45.800.
Fourth fastest were the Christie Brothers Sam and Tom, they were really pleased with this; their time was 1:45.801.
Stephen Kershaw and Ryan Charlwood set the fifth fastest time, a time of 1:46.139. The team will be making small adjustments to their machine for Q2 tomorrow.
A couple of teams had technical problems in this session, Bennie Streuer and Kevin Kolsch, and Philippe Gallerne and Chistophe Darras. Newcomer Luke Williams and Jason Pitt had a problem but they did continue.
The second qualifier will be tomorrow at 11.40 local time, with a 9 lap sprint race at 16.55 local time.

Qualifying two report from Wally
Assen,
Qualifying 2.
It is a funny old day here in Assen weather wise! Qualifying 2 got away with spots of rain falling at certain parts of the circuit, but it is very warm and humid, so the track was dry. The rain stopped which was good but still warm and humid.
Father and son team Ted and Vincent Peugeot had mechanical problems on their first lap and did not have a time.
The top six teams are all in the 1:45’s, so it is close.
Bennie Streuer and Kevin Kolsch, fared the best in Q2 with a time of 1:45.938, bringing them up to the 6th fastest team overall.
Ben Birchall and Callum Crowe went faster in Q2 with a time of 1:45.464, putting them fifth fastest.
The Christie Brothers Sam and Tom are in fourth with a time of 1:45.454, better than their Q1 time so they are happy with this.
Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement improved on their Q1 time, they set a 1:45.329, good for third overall.
Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes stay in second place, they did not improve from their Q1 time of 1:45.260.
Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau, like Reeves and Wilkes did not better their Q1 time of 1:45.171. But this is good for pole position.
Both new teams are getting on well and really enjoying the experience of the “Assen” circuit. Luke Williams and Jason Pitt are improving their times; their fastest time was 1:49.863, good for 14th. And Sam and Jack Laidlow are just behind with a time of 1:51.014, in 15th place.
The sprint race will start at 16.55 local time.
