I seem to remember Colin Hopper running one, he sold the outfit on to a guy called Brian Wilson from crewe, it was in a Rumble chassis (I remember that bit coz I actually bought the rolling chassis :d ). Don't know what happened to the engine because the chassis had been converted to take a TZ750 for the TT.
Stupidly I sold the chassis on a bit later

OH YES !! I would love to have a play, I’ve been looking round for an old 750 Ireson roller for a while, like you, I would love to put a proper British bike together. Unfortunately most of the ones that I followed up have had 600 engines butchered into them.
As far as I am aware, Paul does still have his just like he probably still has ‘Moonraker’ ! I don’t think he ever sells anything.

Wal, a mate of mine worked for Barton in Caernarvon building the Pheonix engines around the time of the "Silver Dream racer".
he told me of the story of the day Eric Buell arriving there & bought the whole business. Theres mention of this in Eric Buell's History of the Buell. Sad how he just let the Pheonix engine "die"

They’re not dead Ian, just sleeping…they will live to run another day, as the name implies !
As I said, Paul Hanson has at least one, as does Nigel R, who also has his complete TT winning bike, he ran it in the parade this year. I have enough bits to put 4 or 5 ish engines together and I know the whereabouts of 3+ solos, all being labelled as “the one and only original Silver Dream Racer” !
I believe Barry Hart is running a Porsche Garage in Bolton called Hartech. Although probably the man to talk to is the other half of the Barton team, Graham Dyson of Nova Transmission fame, font of all knowledge. :gott:

eric buell did not let the project die , he bought the phoenix to race as F 750 solo unfortunately just as he got the 1st one built the class was dropped.
paul still has his 750- originally in a derbyshire chassis then we tried it in a long hopper. It had loads of go but needed 8 flywheels and a new ignition to be reliable

Re: 750 phoenix engine
Hey Paul, good to see you on here, hope your OK ? Re the Phoenix, it was sad to see them go but I’ve sold my 5 or so Barton Phoenix engines to Chris Alty, on here as 16000rpm, he’s a great guy and doing wonderful things with them building some solos and what a good job he’s doing too.
If you’re about, I see he’s riding an F1 outfit at Aintree this coming weekend.
