Hi, You are not wrong Daphne. Was a bit scarey for me seeing them coming in
but I guess not a patch on the view they had

Daph, no second (I think). I was marshalling at the Hairpin. Not sure about this marshalling lark you know! Bit too much like hard workWelsh Daph wrote:Was it on first lap then Ian?

I read the reason it happened ....
sounds as though they are very lucky to get away as light as they did

It amazes me how people can make that sort of statement. I have just read the post and wonder who the person is. It was certainly not any of the marshals at the scene - this I know for a fact being one of them. It is a deeply distressing time for those involved and someone posting stuff like that is just not being fair. Would be interesting to know where he got the information from etc.

Ian, That information came from the Technical Officer who came round the paddock at lunchtime and checked everyone's foot brake mechanism. The post on the CRMC website is almost word for word what he told me.

Just how much weight can you save by drilling a bolt prolly no bigger than 1.5" x 3/8BSF? Just have one slice of toast less for breakfast - sorted

It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!

Re: CRMC at Pembrey > Easter weekend :)
I need to thank Clive. I broke my rotor arm on the start line. When Clive crashed I managed to fit a new one in time for the restart! Thanks Clive.
We stayed up until after midnight working on the outfit then worked on it all Sunday morning. Didn't have time to put the fairing on and entered the assembly area as the barrier went up. We managed our best result, 4th place, then got disqualified because we had no number on the front.
No points but a lot of fun.

That just about sums it up
How pathetic ... Whats a transponder for? You would have thought that the club would be glad to have another outfit on the grid.
Can anyone let me know if that stupid rule the Classic Club inforced re "no 3 digit race numbers" is still in force?

That was the problem. If the transponder had been fitted it would have been ok. Also he could have been black flagged from the race rather than allowed to run the distancesidecar 151 wrote: SIMON SAID:

Ah, no number AND no transponder does make timekeeping more complicated
