Yes we were both fine in the end. Very brused at the moment but a lucky escape really. Jim was ok and raced a solo bike an hour later. Just not looking forward to the rebuild. It dont look like the avatar any more.
I was cornering too fast and lost the back end. I managed to get it back but had to head for the grass which was not very flat and meant i had no braking. We then hit the gravel for the rally cross circuit and skimmed over that and onto the access road at that point the brakes started to work but it was too late. The sides of the road have a vertical grass bank about 8" high and the fairing hit that and dug in. The roll was because the fairing exploded and went underneath and flipped us.

shame it took the medic's 45 seconds to be there and nearly a minuite to get the ambulance there !!!!
That's a bit harsh. Considering that the race has to be stopped first before the ambulance can even get onto the track, I thought a minute wasn't bad.
That's faster than some people lap Lydden !!
So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?

Too true. If you look the red flags went out very quickly and the marshal was there within 30 seconds. To crash in the middle there is very unusual and difficult to access when there are bikes circulating. As someone who marshals from time to time (and had for some 8+ years before racing) I think the incident was handled perfectly and with good speed - a job well done.
i didn't mean it as a nasty comment but Lydden is about the size of a postage stamp and i would have thought they would put the ambulance in the middle of the circuit then it can get there quicker
sorry if my comments offended

Phil, I have never seen an ambulance in the middle as it is probably too dangerous. The doctors car and an ambulance are usually located at the release gate(next to the med centre) and at the outside of Chessons.
