Yer lucky if that's the only damage RP, could bin a lot worse I reckon  Might that be a result of extreme heat at the museum or is that a different set?

No, these are off the yellow outfit that GP uses. It's a short stroke SRM (Devimead)750. The other outfit now has the original engine which we raced in the 70's - one of Norman Hanks' long stroke conversions. Fortunately that engine was not in the outfit at the time of the fire, instead there was just a bog standard A65 unit in it which was totally wrecked.

T'was a truly great weekend :D Was great to get out on track and give the bike a run - she was running lovely :D and really good to meet up with Roland, Graham, Derek, Roger, Nick, Shelli, Reg, Mike and everyone else :D

PS We were right about there being a noise from the engine on the yellow outfit then

What a cracking weekend, 2 days at Cadwell with the superbly run Beezumph track weekend and then down to Snetterton for the crmc/msv track day.

Cadwell was really well run and they were so welcoming to the sidecar crews. We had plenty of time to practice ready for the final crmc meeting at the end of the year (so look out you lot we WILL be catching you....)
They were sound testing everybody at Cadwell just before the scrutineering bay. There were to 2 lots of people doing the tests with a TR3OC rep overseeing their work. One beardy nerd was officious who seemed to take a great deal of satisifaction whenever he found a noise criminal. What a turd... And yet the other guy was such a contrast, really helpful and understanding and did a pragmatic assessment of each machine.
Tip #124 for noise testing: drive you outfit over a carpet and then drape a rug over the engine - result 102db :D :D

Snetterton - more noise testing even with an identical 'noise passed' sticker on from 2 days before. Out came the carpet and rug 101.9db - ha ha. Apparently the noise tester was looking all dissapproving ' I'm not allowing that again' herumph herumph, alas another turd.

And yet the track guys were great - it was just us , they were sticking their heads around the pit garage door giving us a the 5 mins to go. We decided to fry the clutch a then knacker 2 diaphragm springs so our sessions were curtailed. If we had stayed we would probably have the option of 6 or 7 track sessions - Gulp!!
What a great bunch. MSV - excellent - just lose the noise testers

Yes what a great weekend nice to see all the CRMC crews and finaly meet Roland and Graham thanks for your advice on the gearbox problems ( no it's still not right yet but we're getting there as they say). You were right about the noise from the engine Graham good job you did'nt go out again!! We had four good runs and my cousin who passengered for me really enjoyed himself, I think we have another convert to the fold and also Annette RP's passenger big grins all round.
I can now say that I have been out on track with one of my sidecar heroes, Chris Vincent, just didn't have the nerve to talk to him.
You were right about the noise test Mike. We were tested down in the assembly area six feet away from the office wall, with the exhaust facing it, thirty bikes with engines running waiting to go out and the engine on meltdown we'd been waiting that long. It's 110 decibels says the man. OOH thats a surprise never been that high before! Big thanks to the TR3OC guy who was with us we somehow got it through! and I should include the Cadwell noise man as well (the guy who was signing us on not the two from the scrutineering bay) he was fair enough. I'll take some carpet with me next time! Unfortunately the world is gaining turds at an unprecedented rate.
Anway a great weekend was had by all even though the Tapsells only got a few laps in before Grant's arm gave up ( good effort 10/10 ) then the chain broke and Nick and Shelli broke their gearbox. Definately be back again, any volunteers for next years passenger.
See you all at Snetterton and see RP and GP again I hope.
Best wishes Reg

I reckon these were taken during the second Friday session, Ian, which you didn't go out in and there are none of Saturday's sessions either (which won't bother Graham P). Not a critiscism Jim ;) Good pics.
