I am so envious Daphne. I went every year from 1998 to 200? when it was cancelled and have not been back since it restarted. A truly unique event with a wonderful atmosphere.

It is with great sadness that I have just found out that the fatality was Duncan Pemberton.

I bought my first race bike, a TZ350g, off Duncan. Duncan was very enthusiastic about TZ's and was always willing to offer help and advise.

I chatted to him at Chimay this year. It was obvious that he really enjoyed the Belgian road circuits.

from Monkeyplanet, maybe one of you is so kind to translate:

The last sentence (if I understand correct) means the end for Jehonville...

As you say it before, the organizors have decided to stop organizing Jehonville races. It was the last year on this track.
They hope to organize another meeting somewhere else (eventually on a proper track) because it's a big organization for 2 days with lots of money for insurance and closing roads.

They wrote on monkeyplanet that it was a sad weekend in Jehonville with the fatal crash of Duncam Pemberton. It's also written that the sidecar crash was very spectacular as the bike flew and crashed in the bottom of the sidecar paddock. Lucky, there were nobody in the tents which were completly destroyed. Both driver and passenger are ok (just some broken bones). Both crashes were on Saturday afternoon.
Life is too short, enjoy every moment.

Google translation:

Weekend Jéhonville very morose, Saturday afternoon, a spectacular exit route of a sidecar with relapsed into the corner of the paddock three wheels at the rear of the football field has dampened the mood of the event. Fortunately, this high-flying caper ended without much physical damage to the crew. A little later in the race of the 500cc and 350cc group two, a driver could avoid an English pilot under his bike after a fall group. A commissioner at work has also been implicated. Unfortunately the British pilot had died in the collision. The recent closing day races were all postponed on Sunday morning and the modified program.
End awards, Martiny Roland has announced that the organization of the test stopped there for him

Was that Duncan Pemberton who raced solo with Fotgotten Era in the 90's?

Yes, I believe he was one of the founder members of the FRC?
