Gedinne

Unread post by seb84 »

Last weekend saw the last rounds fo the Belgian championship @ Gedinne.

There were a lot of sidecars on this amazing and wonderful track. They worked a lot this year for the safety. At the Friday's briefing, the oragnizors reminded us that it was a road race and that the track is quite dangerous ; as it wasn't world championship round, they asked us to ride safely.

Saturday morning, we had practice. For the 1st time of my life, I was out on a classic outfit with front exit. My driver was Brian Toombs and we were riding on a BMW 750cc. I just enjoyed the practice so much. It was great. We finished 8th/24th. Bill Hodgkins/Bert Vloemans were 2nd, Eddy Toombs/Bob Dowty 6th, Juan/Tim Dixon 20th.

In the afternoon, we had the 1st race of the weekend. It was a 6 laps race. Unfortunately, we haven't been far away in the race as after some corners, we hit the strawballs in the 2nd left bend uphill after the hairpin. :cry: Brian has got a broken collar bone and 5 broken rips. :cry: The bike (except a little the ferring) and myself weren't damaged. It was the end iof the weekend for us. Bill ran out of fuel :roll: , Eddy had mechanical problems and Juan didn't finish.

Vincent & Phil Biggs finished 2nd in the P3 and Matthew Kingsmill/Alun Bedford 3rd.

The Komnik team had a bad weekend with plenty of problems.

Same schedule for Sunday :
results :
- P2 : Bill Hodgkins 1st, Juan/ Tim Dixon 10th
- P3 : Vince & Phil Biggs 1st

All the results can be found on http://www.chronolux.net" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We also celebrated Tim Dixon & Ian Nickels birthday (both born on the 31st August). ;)
Life is too short, enjoy every moment.
