Re: The North/South Divide
I can remember racing against Mick Wortley in the 70's Ian. How do I remember this? Because the cheeky bastard looked at the Kirby BSA and said "I remember this outfit. It used to go well".

Yes, it was a BSA. Clive Pollington was the passenger

Re: The North/South Divide
It didn't start out with the triple Roly. It originally had a twin (probably Triumph) and had a 16" front wheel also. The trident motor and 10" front wheel were later additions believed to be early 1980's.RP wrote:1968 Trips? The only one I can remember from that period with a triple was Mick Boddice's

what date of manufacture do modern classics put on their entry forms

Annette, as fas as I am aware, it would be based on the date of the engine. We enter ours as a 1972 as that is the year of the engine. The chassis was made in or around 1968.

Re: The North/South Divide
That's a hard one Annette, I know a guy who won the 500cc Vintage championship (solo). I lent him an amal smoothbore carb, he then made a carb from that period which looked identical to a period amal but to all intents the internals were Amal smoothbore.

Re: The North/South Divide
Weslake that's the one ........SO you can get a brand new engine then to put into a brand new chassis and run it in the classics ........
pity the poor old Konig is not included
mind you TB after being out with them in Gemany I think they may just blow the rest away

Seriously annette, do you still think that Konigs use shellac to seal the heads!!
they use modern technology.
So you & Robin never used silicone sealant on the Enfield?
