Re: The Hursts
I can remember that Knockhill meeting Craig. I think it was a British Championship meeting, I know we left straight to the Southern after. We were using TZ700 motors at the time, with chrome rings. The rings had nipped on the pins on all the cylinders so come the final it was hard to start and it was as flat as a fart. We ended up in a race for 5th place with the Hursts, with them being quick in a straight line and braking earlier than I was used to.Unfortunatly we collected them at the top of Duffus. We finished 5th and I dont think they finished at all. I can remember there were two ANC artics there one in the paddock and one on display in the public area. Obviosly I had to go and say sorry afterwards. They were (and probably still are) a nice pair of lads. The last time I spoke to them was at the 1990 TT, when we were on 350s.

Re: The Hursts
wal, it was 1986, New Brighton Prom, I was on my new Joe Heyes 350 outfit ( biggest shed I ever rode) Lydsey was in front of us. Flag went down,we pushed the bike off, looked down at thr rev counter to see if the motor had fired then ran straight into Gary & Lyndsey. Pulled back, had another go, looked down at the rev counter & ran straight into the back of them again.
Not long after that I had my industrial accident & got a real abusive get well card from the pair of ----- while I was in hospital. I still have the card
They were a real ugly bunch the Hursts, especially with an uncle like Les Hurst
Good day's wal with all you Lanc buggers invading us .
