THE KONIG, Nice to see the outfit finished BUT after reading all the literature about the Engine being pre 1968,the chassis & WHEELS dont look classic.Maximum width tyre in contact with tarmac allowed 140mm.,treaded for classic club races.

Dear all

I think we need to steady down a bit.

I have received several phone calls now regarding my integrity, sanity and on one occasion the marital status of my parents, after the photo of Howard's Konig was put on the site.

As with all these things there is usually a simple answer - Howard has built two outfits, the one in the photo which he intends to run in the F2 championships, and the other one, built to Classic Club specification as shown on his eligibility application form, which he still has in his garage.

I've just thought of one other option - he has the relevant parts to convert said F2 to the Classic regs.

If there is anyone still unhappy with my position and/or decision please don't hesitate to speak to me at Pembrey where it does appear we have some 20 outfits ready to burst the CRMC championship back into life.

Re the KONIG [again], You guys must think i have swallowed the regs book,  Frames are to be of Tubular construction, and if not constructed within the Classic period MUST give all reason Appearance of belonging to that period. Then in another paragraph SLICKS are not permitted on any wheel, nor hand cut slicks. We have yet to see the FAIRING, next paragraph states Fairings MUST BE of DUSTBIN type. After going to so much trouble proving this engine was pre 68.,why fit formula two wheels, I sincerly hope that the owner has a set of Classic eligible wheels as our Sidecar Bloke suggests.

Den, dont mean to be rude, but like Ian said, calm down a bit. Howie only lives down the road from us and we often see him around, he doesn't intend to do all the CRMC rounds, so therefore won't be competing for the championship. I have seen the article that was posted on here and it all looks above board. Howard of course WILL NOT be running slicks on the outfit.....

Lets it get out there and bring more attention to the club eh. At the end of the day, its not the bloody world championship!
