Pembrey - WOW

Unread post by Triplebrew »

What a great start to the season :D A large turnout of 18 outfits for the first meeting of the year. We had a mixed weekend with 2 dnf's an 8th and a 10th and had a fabulous race long battle on Saturday with Clive Faulkner on his Honda :D The test day on Friday started very wet but was really good fun as we were able to keep the Pottingers F1 in sight pretty much all the time and got real close a few times too :D and it was nice to meet Gareth (sorry about passing ypu mate  ). Well done to the winners etc of whom I can't remember (so wont guess ;) ). Roll on Mallory :D

Nice to meet you too mate, and the rest of the classic boys. :D :D
I really enjoyed myself, once it started to dry out, never liked the wet 20 odd years ago and see no reason to change my mind now
Must remember to stay off the grass

Glad you enjoyed your time with us Gareth. You need to sell that long bike and buy a classic outfit. Then you can race with us all season.

Wow indeed.

Our best ever results.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend. I'm glad you fixed your gremlins Ed as I don't think the padock could have coped with Vicky miserable face for much longer ;) It was good to see you both smiling once you'd sorted your earth (thanks to advise from a new Team Gristwood member I believe).

Lots of safe fast racing, well done to all. Congratulations to Matt who seems to have got that Beemer reliable.

Looking forward to Mallory.

We had a mixed weekend as well.......
7th in the first race........2.5 seconds a lap quicker than last year was very pleasing.
14th in the second with a misfire that we couldn't sort :-(
For that reason we didn't bother on the Sunday, we did however to get out in the solo parade on the bikes we were lucky enough to borrow.
Shelli rode Tony Dunnell's beautiful 350 Manx.........Thanks to Tony and his rider, Mike Carter, not many people would lend a £30,000+ bike to a sidecar passenger who has never ridden a solo on the track!

I rode Paul Allender's TZ750.......................F*ck me! It felt like someone had stolen the start/finish straight! :o Thanks Paul, would you care to contribute to the laundry bill I incurred??

Hahaha sorry about that Simon

Have to say it was a fantastic weekend and our thanks must go to John Simper, without him we wouldn't have got the results we did so thanks for that John.

Roll on Mallory :D

Oh yesss, hubba hubba whoop whoop

What a top weekend, great practice session on Friday ( kack weather mind) and great fun over the weekend. One or two niggling problems but nothing major.

Funniest thing over the weekend - talking with Karl, his sister Becky, Jay and her indoors about the taxi rides and it was decided if Jenny went out we were gonna tell the commentator that her surname is Tailier. I swear I was about to vomit we were laughing that hard.

Most irritating - John helping the enemy, now renamed Yoda (fixed it I have ).

Most miserable face - Vics, re- see above

New names for teams - Nancy and Damien can now be refered to as Torville and Dean

Best results - Matt, your grin dissappeared under your silly hat......

How long till Mallory???
