Darley Moor - any hints & tips?
Having never ridden at Darley Moor are there and pointers? Anywhere particularly tricky? What sort of gearing - eg same as Mallory? or much different?

darleys pretty easy. off line 1 st esses R L R float chair wheel over kerbs , 90 deg right , top esses R L R uses all road plus rumble strip plus grass beware of bollards , tricky bit time - worked left then on the brakes whilst changing sides into R h/pin, long straight , 90 deg R - thats it . the RHS of the grid is best as you dont have so much dirty tarmac before you get to main track -they use a dummy grid
when a man tires of sidecars he tires of life

Re: Darley Moor - any hints & tips?
Ian, the second set of esses, you can get away with not working most of that except the last left kink.
Stay left until before the hairpin then very quick change to the right, all under braking too so prepare yourself.
Ignore left kink just after the hairpin and get yourself laid down in the platform.
Last right hander need to work the front otherwise you'll end up eating the gravel, then back onto start finish.
First chicane dead easy dont work right, out left and back over right then stay right til 90 degree right hander.
Its easy to be honest mate, once you've got the first lap out the way you'll be fine

we've got the skid marks to prove it.lol
gotta say I liked the track but its a bit harder than it looks on paper. didn't take long to find our way round though.

Re: Darley Moor - any hints & tips?
So what people are saying is that although a fairly small circuit it is pretty fast? Going try practice with Mallory gearing and see how it goes. First race is after lunch so there will be time to change if required. Thanks

I'd be tempted to take a tooth or two off the back compared to Mallory.

Nicks right ! There is a long long straight at darley. I would use the same gearing as Donnington.
