14" Avon rears

Unread post by Jeff »

With the 14" Avon rears being so tall, do most people raise their gearing, or is it not enough to worry?

We had to cut away the undertray and the rear of the fairing to get the thing in (OK, Phil had to ;) )
We're saving up for the new sprockets, yes the fast guys already have :P

Hi - I've put up a gearing calculator for my own use - it's got my own TZ details filled in - but you can put your own details in too.
I did have one with all speeds in all gears - but for a quick comparison of the effects of a gearing change - this is much simpler...
Make no claims to accuracy - I modified it from something I found a while ago - ignore the top part - those are just the TZ350 figures as a reminder - and to save me looking them up :D
The page is linked from here...(Gearing Calculator)
http://maplesigns.co.uk/partslist/index ... ucts_id=34
You'll need to know your Primary Gearing, Gear Ratios, - and Tyre dimensions (there's charts available on Avon & BMTR websites for the tyre sizes)
2 strokes are the future...

Had to laugh at this I heard somewhere... "You can't polish a Turd"
