For attention of Bob Bird who seems to have an interest in Periods 1 and 2.
In P1 Dennis and Christine Etheridge, Norton powered, had some fantastic racing with the two Daves, Crawford and Baxter aboard their BMW. Mark Kilner and Morgan Thomas, also Norton powered, were struggling with carburration and a gear linkage that fell off. In P2 Steve Romeril and Linda McShane, Triumph 750, had a strong showing seeing as it was Steve's first time on a sidecar. Reg and Kerry Charlesworth, P2 had oil pressure issues with their BSA, ending in a big-end failure. Andy Rayner and Lorraine Bown on their Triumph 650 had a typical Rayner/Bown/Triumph weekend.

Many thanks Ian, but you did not have to go to the trouble of posting twice just for me

It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!
