what about harley engines edd......or for that case 500cc scooter motors......

well they used to use triumph engines and some got round so why not have some more classes for the sidecars they not got many for the solos either and they let the small bikes round at the gp full circut they need something else to make it intresting and as for practice youll get 25 mins a day instead of 20 :D

To put it simply there are three solo classes, might as well be one because they largely look and sound the same with the same riders.

As for Triumphs "getting round" a BSA won in 1965 with Chris Vincent and again in the 750cc event with Terry Vinicombe.

Now after watching the mega exciting TTX race at the TT. I propose that we have Electric Sidecars. We could carry a massive battery and go faster ! for longer !!!! Whose going to put this to Jim Parker ?

Thats true Bob, But lets face it anyway this Electric business is a non starter, even the Jap car boys are now saying it will never be a practical form of transport, unless of course you need some type of trolley to ride to the Pub and back on in 15 yrs time !!

Back to the original point of this thread.......do we have a definitive answer yet?

Will the 2011 TT be run with standard heads?

Or, will the regualtions remain the same as 2010?

Where should we be looking for the definitive answer?
So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?

We were told on Saturday night at Silverstone that it will be standard lift on cams for the TT 2011 and the british championship will stay as it is for 2011, the rest was all too technical for me

Ok Guys And Girls Here We go

FOR 2011 TT ONLY
1. Engine Types

The only permitted engines for this class are:

• 501 - 600cc, 4 stroke, 4 cylinder, Production based

• Rotary engines are not permitted.

• Over-boring is not permitted.

• Induction systems:

• 501 - 600cc, 4 stroke Carburettor Engines: Any carburettor is permitted.

• 501 -600cc four-stroke Fuel injection engines: Fuel injection systems are permitted using only the throttle-bodies as homologated for the engine concerned

• The injectors must be standard units as on the homologated engine.

• Variable length intake tract devices that function while the engine is operating are not permitted.

• Butterfly cannot be changed or modified. Where fitted a secondary butterfly or slide may be locked in the fully open position.

• Any fuel pump may be used.

• Homologated fuel pressure must remain unmodified.

• The fuel ignition ECU and Ignition Control Unit may be changed.

· The camshaft duration is free but the lift must remain as homologated.

· The cam chain or cam belt tensioning device is free

· Cam sprockets or cam gears may be modified or replaced to allow the timing of camshaft

SO BASICALLY STANDARD LIFT CAMSHAFT IS THE ONLY MOD REQUIRED FOR 2011

For 2012 the following is proposed:

From 1st January 2012 everything above the head gasket must remain as homologated. Camshafts must be as homologated but timing and tensioning devices are free.

Everything below the head gasket is free.
Dream as if youll live forever and live as if youll die tomorrow.... Happy days
