Re: Windle Konig
What they are doing is exactly what Doug Willey told me not to do when we raced ours. You should not warm up a Konig motor as they are very difficult to keep cool in a sidecar with a limited supply of cool water as opposed to being used in a boat where there is an endless supply. As the radiator only gets cooled when you are moving it is strongly recommended that you proceed up the road as soon as it starts. This reduces the possibility of engine seizure which was a common problem and happened very abruptly with no warning. Here speaks the voice of experience.
