I'd like to see more pics of that. Lead acid is obviously not the way to go ;) but it's cheap. Would like to see the motor(s) and speed controllers used.

he did say he had spent a lot uprating the batteries, quite a big expense for very little improvement I believe but can't remember the figures.
I've got this pic of the motor, it's just a motor to me unfortunately, now if it was a diesel I might have 1/2 a chance

Interesting but not a lot to be told by the pics. 4 batteries but are they set up as 48v?
I wonder what sort of current it pulls, those cables don't look huge.
Good stuff.

As I say electrics not my strong point but I did ask him where the motor was from but all he said was it was from a vehicle of some description. I did hear the figure 130 hp mentioned (not from the owner) but that is apparently right across the speed range. Makes no sense to me but what do I know?
In my last job I did come across an electric 7.5 ton truck being run by TNT.
Didn't have much to do with it but the driver said he would see most cars off away from the lights and the only reason speed was restricted to 40 mph was to make the charge/battery life last longer.
