Moly's retirement ??
I see a thread on another forum that says Moly has retired.
Has this been confirmed?
If so, should we mark it in some way?

So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?

Not from what the Classic boys are saying

It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!

Re: Moly's retirement ??
Hope Dave does not mind me posting this, but having spoken to him recently, personally I think it’s more a change of lifestyle rather that a straight forward retirement.
With a new wife, some new business prospects and a new house he is refurbishing, he seems very happy with life at the moment, a long way from the “Moody Moly” of the past !!
Maybe he has discovered there is a life outside of serious Sidecar racing, he may even turn into a “holiday racer” !
I don’t blame him, I think some of it is a case of ‘Never a Prophet in your own land” ! When you see the 10’s of thousands of pounds that the Tourist Board etc, hand out every year to named solo riders, you would think that with 14 TT wins under his belt, not to mention being a Manxman, that he would deserve a bigger slice of the pie, or even any slice of the pie, but it would seem the Tourist Board can’t see what’s right under their nose.
Dave puts himself heavily in debt as most of us do to compete in the TT every year, amounts that his earnings never cover, as I said, I think he has just found something else to spend his money on.
He still regards the TT as the “Greatest Road Race in the world” and I think that if somebody came up with a package commensurate with his ability, then he would be back like a shot.
As many of you know, Dave has had Sidecars in his blood all his life as his Father before him, he is currently building himself a Classic Honda powered outfit, that I’m sure will prolong the smile on his face. . . . . if not ours.

Re: Moly's retirement ??
I reckon that it is Moly's New Year Resolution, after all how many do you keep each year

It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!
