HIYA, does anyone remember that cockney character Pete Broom, jesus was he cockey but blinkin fast at the same time ,i remember in 1997 snett meeting him trying out the Bridgestones on his outfit, in the weekend of his loss i recall him getting on the Satday 1st,3rd, & dnf at the 1st bend, this is with a novice passenger 1st time out, then sunday i was looking back down the back straight ( flatout this is ) & Pete sticking two fingers up before under taking us, 2 laps later he died following an incident on the back straight in front of us, all i`d like to say is Pete Broom my Son you arnt forgotten, P.s where`s his old passenger now adays Steve Allenby (not racing at the time)i do recall them pair swopping postion`s once at mallory with pete in the chair and steve finishing a good 3rd in the race,
wow, brings tears to my eyes seeing his name,Pete was my best mate,i was his best man at his wedding,he was a top man,Pete was my trusted mechanic, for 10-15yrs, when i used to race long circuit karting, finaly convinced himself to race after having a go at mallory on a practice day,and was with me when i won my only Grand prix (karts) as you rightly said TOPMAN, x
Steve ALLENBY,is also a mate and work colleague,he has now moved to Spain,he was an excellent solo rider and won the 600 steelframe championship in 2000
Top Bloke.
I remember Gilbert sending me a text saying 'we have lost Pete'.
I was a bit confused at first (bang on the head).
After a few more messages the penny dropped.
Did I cry? Too damn right I did
