Dave Cotton bought the outfit off Derek Jones (or his sponsor) in 85, I think.

Steve, you are a genius.steve-e wrote:from Bryan Lancasters pics, I must credit him and ask later if it's ok to use them ..
Even if by accident.
This is indeed the precise machine, not the one originally posted, which I now see was Dereks preceeding outfit; the front of the monocoque & the brake master cyclinder mounts are slightly different.
The second picture is Dave Cotton, who we bought the bike from, (with TZ750) and in the colours on the picture. We actually bought the bike from Dave's sponsor, and I still have the original invoice for that transaction.
Thanks everyone for the help.
Any further contributions very welcome. I undestand the bike had a large rear airscoop at some stage - any pics of that would be particularly appreciated.
How about a posting of the Facebook pics then DK?

Message To Gary:
Whatever you do to it - correct year for chassis or not, you gotta have the Ireson/Jones, Duck Bill/Duck Arse Bodywork on it!!! ICONICCCCCCCCCC is the key word otherwise it looks like just another LCR...........(No disrespect Louis.....)
Derek was gonna take me for passenger ride at British GP test day at Silverstone with the droopy/winged thing - but unfortunately despite me arriving and having my leathers - it couldn't be done! Must have been 82 or 83??

You pinched the wrong one Steve
At the old Carnaby circuit, I would say.
So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?
Re: Derek Jones at Snett
That's the Duck-bill part (front) before they added the Duck-Arse (big back Wing) to it!Ronald wrote:Is this the Duck-Arse, Ireson fairing???
I think Jonesy had a mate who worked for a University and i think and they were able to build the fairing design and testing into a project for wind tunnel data tests.... or something like that

But as I said, ICONIC.
So Gary - if it doesn't show up with a replica of that bodywork (Crazy Horse probably still got the mould on top of his shed....) then I think everybody will be disappointed!! NO PRESSURE

Iconic in my era.....(probably another thread, but hey Ho!)
Borrett - Renwick Konig
Hawes - BRM Yamaha
Jackson - KGB - Imp
French Guy -Seymaz with first all enveloping Bodywork/Rear Exit
Biland/O'Dell/Schmidt - Schmidt-Yamaha
Biland - BEO
Biland - LCR Conventional
Jones - Ireson Yamaha
Jock Taylor - Windle
Ford-Dunn - FD Yamaha
Jonesy - LCR
After that, we all look pretty much the same - just different paint

"French guy" was Jean Francois Monnin with the Seymaz Ian(i should get out more)
...To see the bike with that fairing would look awesome . Even better to have Derek and Brian riding it
