Re: More new classics
Ray Wilson did build a centre hub steering S 800 ENGINED Chassis but it was never used, and yours truly bought the chassis and fitted leading link Forks. Hub steering banned in CRMC. Stan Stephens used a Honda S800 I believe.

Alan, There used to be one running up herealanw wrote:Just spent 10 mins googleing s800s i never even knew they existed. (never seen one up here in the frozen North) Funny how they look a bit like an MG though, revvy little bugger of an engine mind.
Was built & run by Sandy Bloy of Bridge of Earn, sold to Brett Mitchell who used to give the tz,s & imps a good run ,Kenny Andrews will remember, ended up in Jim Taylors hands and think he replaced engine with a bike motor
Re: More new classics
Mike, No cameras, unfortunately. Good to see a "Celt" producing such wonderfull work, albeit in England!!
Carbon fibre is the present and the future. Eh, no maybe tubbies!! No!! Definitely LCR's
Re: More new classics
Cheers for info John, bit before my time though. Peter used to be sponsored by Sandy Bloy in his solo days, he knows him quite well, will get him to see if he can dig up any photos I think the history of sidecar racing in scotland needs some investigation. Time you wrote your memoirs.

Re: More new classics
Stan Stevens did indeed race a S800 Honda, with good success in the 70's.
Johny Vines also built one that he rode 1973-76 (I think that's the correct years) his passenger was Jim Pooly.
They both sounded great on full song!

Re: More new classics
I recall the Sandy Bloy S800 around about '74/'75 time. It sounded beautifull when given a handfull.

Re: More new classics
If you are referring to the Honda S800, I owned one of the sports cars and it was very quick, in an outfit it must have been super quick. BTW I have been toying with building a Daihatsu Charade 3 pot engined classic, there are boucoup where I am at present. The Renwick is coming on very well as is the BFD both will be ready in March.
