Just clicked on the "other bikes for sale " interesting bit about the BRM for sale,if you click on the ad at the bottom you get a chance to see the TT line up for that year, no; 28 is Dennis Keen/Vic Sampson on a
998 Konig,is that a misprint or could you get a Konig out to 998?

I believe Dennis ran what he called the "Keenig" which was two 500cc motors to make it 1000cc in total, or thereabouts !

Denis told me about that once. He said he didn't very often get it on all 8 cylinders but when he did it was a missile!! :notworthy:
So how long have I had these voices in my head, I hear you ask?

Believe Dennis had it the twin engine lump in his front room with a plank of wood on the top and was using it as a coffee table, if you know Dennis you will believe it when i tell you it was as it came out of the bike, oil fuel water still in the motor! They broke the mould!

The bloody thing was an absolute rocket.
I remember he let Les Hosgood have a ride on it at Gaydon, he spun it
and couldn't wait to give it back to Dennis.
It is a sad state of affairs but nowadays Dennis would not be allowed to race
because he wouldn't fit into the modern profile of what a racer should be
plus he had no money.
He is one of my heroes and the last I heard he is still sprinting.
I took the shell off my racing snail thinking it would make him faster.
It just made him more sluggish.

I remember seeing the "Keenig" at Brands, on probably one of the only times it ran on all 8 cylinders at once, . . . . what a sight that was :notworthy: :D :D
I don’t regret the things I did wrong, I do regret the things I did right. . .for the wrong people !

Remember seeing it at Oulton when Dennis had just added his sidecar wheel steering. Can't remember how it went.
