I recall reading somewhere about requiring start permission from the ACU? How do you get this and are there any other insurance issues / requirements?

Ian,

If you are only doing one meeting in Belgium you can get a Belgium single meeting licence when you sign on.

For medical/repatriation insurance contact Mark George at Four Counties Insurance. http://www.4counties.co.uk/index.php?pg=56

Hi Ian,

Yes, I have done it over the last two years to race at Chimay. You simply pay for it when you sign on. I took out the medical and repatriation insurance with 4 Counties insurance. The officials at Chimay are very helpful when you get there and the circuit is fun, especially the left kink at the end of Armco Alley.

The licence lasts for the meeting but you can only use it once in a year. If you intend to race more than once in Belgium you need the ACU permission and insurance or you need to apply for a Belgium licence. Trust me, you won't want to do this as its very expensive.

Is the ACU permission for the meeting or for the year? I'm interested because I was thinking of going to Gedinne and Mettet this year. I think I might just do Gedinne now though. As I seem to be getting poorer every month these days I may just stay at home depending on costs. :(

Pirate and Buddha are going but I'm not sure what they've done.

Eddie, any reason why you prefer the ACU route? Does it offer a better service?

Simon

I think that the insurance that Mark George offers, will cover you from door to door aswell as the race etc; but the ACU insurance only covers you for the races ;)

We`ve done Chimay a few times I think the one dayer if 55 euros and I`m sure that includes all insurances
also if you want a Belgian Licence all you have to do is tell the ACU you want permission to ride with another federation they cant stop you, they can fax you permission one of the "few " benefits of being in Europe is all
meetings fall under FIM/UEM

Belgian Meeting

Unread post by Squirrel »

Hi all,
As i have done all belgian and english i can give you some info.

International licence from Belgium cost 315€ and cover everything anywhere..but you need an address in Belgium to get it.
International licence from ACU cost £70 + £94 for each start permition time 4 if you want to do all belgian meeting total cost: £446

Day licence that you buy on the meeting in belgium cost 55€ (and cover everything) the first time you dont need any medical but from the second time you will need a document from your GP. And you can take how much as you want throught the year...with that same gp doc so if you intent to do all the belgian...Its the cheapest way

I hope this is helpfull
See you soon
