Dave Ajax - lived in the Cheshunt/Enfield area, member of the Vagabonds MCC along with a number of other sidecar bods from that area in the '60s. Raced Manx outfits quite successfully with his regular passenger Macolm (Clickclack) Caley, finished 6th in the postponed 1966 TT with the distinction of being both first British bike home and the private finisher.
Long term friend of Charlie Freeman, their 'business arrangement' involved a brush with the legal system

Early '80s a tabloid newspaper carried a front page report that he had been found bound and naked on a ledge in a gravel pit in Cheshunt having been thrown in there by persons unknown. Following an accident in the S100 Dave was unconscious in Noble's for a couple of days which is believed to have changed his whole perspective on certain aspects of life

Dave was a great character in the racing world, widely liked by his fellow racers and a great driver who possibly would have achieved more given the right backing - I know this last bit sounds like an obit but I hope that it is not.
It is true about the sidecar family - you can stop racing but you can never, ever leave!
