Tony, it kinda' depends on what you have and how you drive ! Eddy's tyres might only last 2 meetings as he drives hard and fast, but not all of us are running 1200cc Imps with 140bhp :o

For us mere mortals you will get more than 2 meetings from an avon.

Out of interest, I thought the Yokos were frowned upon in Classic Club because they are basically a modern compound wet ?

Oooops ! sorry Steve/Ian I hope this not another long thread !

Wal, it seems to me that by living in the IOM you are out of touch with what is happening on the mainland. Eddy stopped using the small 1200 imp at the end of the season and has now fitted the full 3 litre imp engine for the 2013 season, this is the reason why he wants the 13" yokohama tyre allowed, you do realise when he asks for this, he is refering to 13" width and not diameter. May I also add, there is no truth in the rumour that he has gone for this 350bhp engine because he is now too old to ride hard and fast. :D

Great to know that you're staying conservative with the BMW Eddy ;)

No Wal. The Scania pistons would take it above the 1300cc limit.

I got the John Deere pistons works out at exactly 1296cc :D

I don't know how you are wearing them out this quickly John. Such extravagance.
Mine are secondhand (ex solo) and I am very upset if I don't get at least 2 more seasons use out of them.

Eddy you could use pistons from field marshall's that would give you a Big bang engine.

Derek Huxley, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
0151-336-4325.
He forms expansion chambers hydraulically,
I'm sure he still makes then, if not he'll put you in touch with some one who can.

You will need the bore and stroke measurements, the compression ratio, the transfer port timing, the inlet timing and the exhaust port timing and size to design an efficient expansion pipe system.
