ROAD RACE - SPEED HILL CLIMBS - SPRINT EVENTS

Steve Henshaw International Gold Cup 14th and 15th September 2013

A super bumper entry has been received for this meeting which is probably the biggest entry ever seen at the September meeting with well over 100 competitiors, many with two or three machines.

Below is the schedule of events with practice each morning and racing in the afternoon.

You will see from the homepage of this site all advance tickets have sold out for the meeting but can still be bought on the gate on arrival, same applies for camping. Camping is only available for the weekend not Saturday only, as this causes problems with security on the site. Caravans and Motorhomes will be placed in the middle field below Drurys Hairpin where there are permanant toilets and showers in the sports pavilion as well as a chemical toilet disposal point. The reason for this is to give more space for car parking without having to cross the circuit during the day on sunday.

Listed below is the time schedule and a list of competitors.

Why have they taken 16 entries ?. Theyre not running heats etc. Phil was told two weeks ago that he couldnt have an entry as they were full at 13. So two weeks later there are 16. Some people will be fed up after Practice . They certainly wont do themselves any favours.

It definitely proves them wrong in saying this year is "probably the biggest entry ever seen at the September meeting with well over 100 competitors ..." In fact, even in the nineties, I remember larger entries; and the sidecars ran heats even up to a few years ago. As for getting them all in the paddock, a small van and either a tent, or a tarpauline to cover the bike was all people needed; but obviously not in these days of motorhomes, tin chairs and corporate shrubbery, where everyone needs at least three acres of land in the paddock !
