Dyno for a sidecar

Unread post by Haynesy »

We could do with running our classic on a dyno to trace and sort an ignition problem we're having.

Anyone know where there is one in the stoke-on-trent, North staffs, Manchester, midlands area?

Dean banks has given a few suggestions I'll be following up - just wondered if anyone knew of any more.

Cheers

Andy

If you're not already sorted, we have a Dyno at our place and currently dyno half the classic sidecar grid. It's a Dynapro dyno, all done in real time conditions.... let us know 01494 512070 not quite Midlands though ;)

it's not far from the Midlands though, I'd go that far for a decent cuppa :)

Vicky - do folk in your workshop have any experience with interspan ignition systems ? We reckon that's the potential source of the problem and also the Stack rev counter has never worked properly!

I'll speak to my driver and may well be in touch.

On another note, 2 weeks ago I was parked up on a deserted country lane near Berkemsted waiting for my F1 driver when an American/Canadian bloke appeared from no where on his Friday evening jog and on seeing the classic sidecar racing passenegr sign writing on my van proceeded to ask if I knew you! When I said I had met you once/twice he seemed impressed and ran off. Very weird!

Hello mate,

Sorry only just seen this reply.

We ran an Interspan on our Weslake that Ian Ashley, they can be a little temperamental. Miro in the workshop is a guru on all these things so should be no problem.

Hmmmm very weird, hope I haven't got a stalker!!! Hahahaha!

Steve - we only have Yorkshire tea down here, got to have a proper taste of home ;)

Hey Vicky, don't knock it - you're never alone when you have a stalker. :)

Yes we got sorted thanks. Spoke to Brian Gray at Brands last weekend and he was very helpful and also got Pete Alton's number at OTC in Windes (which is closer to my driver). We haven't run the bike on the dyno yet - but will let you know when we do and how we got on.
