cbr 600 airbox

Unread post by bones »

Hey guys
I am putting an 07 cbr 600 into a salt racing car for mate
Does anyone know what the two bumps on top of the airbox do?
I want to cut them off to help fit the motor higher in the chassis to save cutting the sump but not mess up the stock tune
with a change in volume of the airbox.
I would like to run the engine as standard as possible to start with and maybe later do some tuning.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Not sure about the air box but why don't you run a cut down sump then the engine could be fitted a lot lower to improve handling.

Hey criso
If I can cut the airbox the stock headers will also fit and it actually fits the chassis better.
You are right about the engine height but I don't think it will be a problem as it is not turning corners.
