PRE TT and Gedinne

Unread post by dick hawes »

Andi Rolli suffered multiple broken ribs and vertbrates plus head injuries following a collision with with Kerry Williams/Billy Weston
on the fast approach to Cross Four Ways during practice for the Camathias Cup event at Castletown. His wife Beate and the Williams
crew suffered only minor injuries. Billy Weston was a "hero" running back up the circuit to warn oncoming traffic of the incident.
The emergency helicopter was quickly on the scene. Andi is being flown home to Switzerland within the next few days.
We all send our best wishes to Andi and his wife......a very popular and well liked team/

Mr Schmit...... We regret to inform you of the death of Antoine Schmit the owner and organizer of Gedinne. He had been very unwell
for several years but was always in the paddock with encouragement for everyone.
Our thought go out to his family who were all very involved in running the race meetings.
GOD BLESS ANTOINE AND THANK YOU

Didn't realise he was still here. I thought he had gone days ago... is he still in Nobles, then?

R.I.P Antoine Schmit,

The Circuit Gedinne always made the British crews more than welcome and reminded me of how circuit racing in the UK used to be.

Thanks a lot for information Dick, especially the PM over Dapn ! Here in Germany, we all are worried about the accident and the heavy injuries of our longtime friend Andy. Hope to see us all well again in Gedinne. Regards Michael

Sad to hear about "monsieur Schmit" as we used to call him. I remember him signing on sidecarteams at other events for the race on "his" circuit.
Many good memories. R.I.P. monsieur Schmit.
