Gedinne Friday practice ?
OK - timetable for Gedinne reads as below - so does anyone have information about what classes (if not all) will practice on Friday ?
I did ask the organizers - but they replied with a message saying sessions will be 1 x practice + 1 race on Sat / Sun - just need to know how much fuel to take if we get the bike ready in time (also looking for a passenger - if we get the bike ready in time)
Friday 21/08/2015 : 12h00: practices
Saturday 22/08/2015
8h00 : practices
12h30 : races (6 laps except for Class 1 (Vintage-50cc-200cc) : 5 laps)
Sunday 23/08/2015
8h00 : races (7 laps except for Class 1 (Vintage-50cc-200cc) : 6 laps)
Parade : 2 series of 15’, 1 of 25’ and 1 of 30’
We are hoping to make it to the Anglesey Test day on Friday - if we can find a willing passenger.

Re: Gedinne Friday practice ?
Needn't have worried as it turned out - one of the Belgian drivers (Pierre Balfroid) - immediately got on the phone when he heard we needed a passenger - Jerome Beauvois turned up early Saturday morning for the first Race day - a very enthusiastic Wolfgang Riga stood in for the friday practice (for me & another driver in a different class) - both guys fantastic...(Jerome usually passengers F1)
Gedinne - as usual - a fantastic weekend - (90 degrees in the shade at one point) although a downpour on Sunday afternoon & a couple of bad accidents during the weekend were low points.
We didn't manage any testing time for the new bike - took it to Gedinne to finish & happy enough with the weekend...

Re: Gedinne Friday practice ?
Thanks Steve & Tony - if you've ever been to this meeting - you'll know it's worth the effort - bit of a shock coming back to the weather we saw yesterday early morning on the M1 & nearly got took out by a truck running in the hard shoulder as we re-joined the motorway after visiting Toddington Services - the hard shoulder use is barmy - but that's another subject for another day...bit of cleaning to do on the bike now...steve-e wrote:Glad you got out Gordon

Re: Gedinne Friday practice ?
The 'hard shoulder' as you exit Toddy is also, in busy times, used as a 4th lane. A HUGE problem these days is people driving on to motorways as if they have the right to drive straight on to the carriageway. It pays to read the highway code and freshen up on the 'white line rule'. Im sure you wern't in the wrong.....just saying.

Re: Gedinne Friday practice ?
No Alan - I'm sure I was "in the wrong" - early morning - dog tired etc - I'm sure there are good reasons for using "the hard shoulder" as an extra lane - just wonder how you're supposed to rejoin the motorway from the services "safely" - rightly or wrongly - I've always thought it far safer to use the slip road to approach "travel speed" and rejoin at a similar speed to other traffic - sometimes using the hard shoulder when needed - I'll have to re-think that in future....Alan Richardson wrote:The 'hard shoulder' as you exit Toddy is also, in busy times, used as a 4th lane. I'd question the sanity of using hard shoulders as an extra lane generally - I wonder what happens if you have a sudden loss of power - you've nowhere to go with traffic following closely behind....

Re: Gedinne Friday practice ?
Your 100% right Alan . Seems that people expect your going to give way to them, even though you are on the major road. Not having a go at you Gordon. Its sometimes a hard drive back after a weekend on the go over there.

Re: Gedinne Friday practice ?
Yep - hold my hands up - it was my error - still think the use of a hard shoulder for normal traffic is barmy though...
