The Auto 66 Club are running their "End Of Season Bonanza / Sidecar Bash" on the weekend of the 24/25 October, catering for all classes of sidecars.

The entry forms are online at their site - http://auto66.com/roadrace-events.htm (There is a blank box on the entry form under the classes, sidecars are class 6 - this should be filled out by the competitor with machine type/details, and the rest of the form as usual). Note the entry fee is £235 this year for two days racing - a significant reduction from last year.

There should be more details in the very near future - the club have been focusing their efforts on this weekends International Gold Cup at Scarborough; I will try to find out more information to post here within the next week.

Hi Tim, one of my sponsors and a few friends are hoping to do taxi rides at Cadwell - do you know if Auto66 are still planning to do these?

Thanks, Anne

I should have a definite answer to this after the weekend. It was mentioned to the office staff at the last meeting, and was going to be discussed by the organisers.

Unfortunately, there will not be taxi rides at this meeting; whilst the club officials discussed the request and considered the merits, they have decided that there will not be enough time to run them. (The clocks change that weekend, so with a busy schedule of racing, plus allowing time for the marshals to have a lunch break means that there is no flexibility in the schedule). Whilst I appreciate this will be disappointing for many, I hope that we can attract a healthy entry of all classes of sidecars to put on an entertaining end of season spectacle.

Thinking of entering but Auto 66 don't know which class I would be in, its either class 10 twin cylinder or class 13 classic can anybody shed any light? also which group will the Morgan's be in? I don't really want to be in the same group as them.

My advice is to enter as a Classic (class 13); if there are sufficient entries then the classes will be further sub-divided; I have told the club I am happy to assist them in terms of sorting out the entries into appropriate classes/groups after the closing date. In terms of sharing track time with other groups, this will again be dependent on the numbers of entries in each section; this will be done in terms of appropriate speeds/types of machine.

Thanks Tim, Entered classic class 13 but put a note in saying I don't want to be out with car based 3 wheelers. I think we would rather come last in a faster group.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Sidecar Bonanza: whether as a competitor, team member, official/marshal or a spectator. Entries were significantly up on last year, and the racing was excellent in all classes. May I take this opportunity to congratulate all race winners, and send my best wishes to all those who had incidents - I hope you have speedy recoveries.

I have noted one or two things which I hope will improve the event in the years to come, but would like to express my thanks to all those who told me how much they had enjoyed the weekend, and looked forward to returning in 2016. With continued support, and further increases in entry numbers, we have a strong case for making this an even more sidecar-orientated meeting in future.

.....and a BIG THANK YOU to you Tim :notworthy: . I don't think a lot of people know how much time and effort you put into the organisation of this event, you must have had a few nights off the 'pop' [chug.gif] dedicating yourself to paperwork [throwcomputer.gif] . I would also like to congratulate you on your excellent commentating, very informative, interesting and correct ;) , well done. It was a great weekend and I am sure the Auto 66 Club will want to repeat the meeting next year. Well done to all concerned

Now all that needs to happen is for the F2 teams to get their entries in early for the Scarborough meetings so that there are enough outfits to run heats and A and B finals. Peter Hillaby has said he would do that given enough entries and as he has always supported the sidecar class there is no reason to believe otherwise. I can even remember the days of A,B and C finals at Scarborough.........I was only very, very young then of course
Proud and honoured to be a member of Team Past It.
With age comes wisdom, maturity and responsibility.............unless you race sidecars !
