Transponder Problems

Unread post by lang »

I sent my transponder to a well known firm for repair, after payment on its return it was found not to work.
I sent it back for them to try again, on its return it still did not function.
After telling them, and twelve months later, still no refund.
I then asked John Chandler, the manufacturer of Borealis Rain Lights if he could repair it.
He said he had no experience of repairing transponders, but was willing to try, within a short time he returned
it to me with a six day battery fitted.
I have used it at three race meetings and it works well ( the only complaint I have is that it does not record fast enough lap times  )
Well done John, and thank you very much.

That's good news Howard, am I allowed to change the title or could Tim maybe to something that reflects this - I didn't click the link earlier today myself as I thought it was going to be a question asking where and I already know that the only places I knew of before are not doing it anymore.

A change of title might help spread the word better? 8)

Thank you for the kind words Howard. :notworthy: :notworthy:

I'll try get into the software next time and make it record faster times ;)

Howards was the old type with the screw on back so easy enough to sort out. If anyone knows how to open the newer type that are potted I'd be interested to know. I can cut them open of course but can't then put them back together. Well I can using tape/glue.

Happy to replace batteries for people at whatever the "well known firm" charge with a bit going to Steve for our site.
