Feet forward sidecar

Unread post by David75j »

Hi Guys, I'm wanting to find out some information on a feet forward sidecar that was raced in the world championships possibly in the 90's/2000's not sure exactly. I believe it was a modified Windle and was allowed to race but not eligible for points. Does anyone remember this outfit and who rode it etc.
If anyone has any pictures they could post that would be brilliant.
Cheers, Dave

Do you mean the LCR belonging to Bosiger? Was running in the same colours as Webbo, red white green I think.

edit - Bosiger not Boesiger

That's it! Would you have any pics with the bodywork off. I'm interested to see how he actually fit in there. Also do you know what happened to it, does it still exists in that layout or was it converted back to a kneeler?

I don't. I doubt it would've stayed like that, more likely put back to usual layout and carried on. From what I remember it wasn't all that different underneath, quite a christmas tree but nothing spectacular.

That's a shame,It would be an interesting historical sidecar if it still existed. Something along the lines of what Biland used to run. Granted not the same, but still unique in it's own right.
It's nice to see sidecars like that which are a little different to your run of the mill long or short bike.

Cheers John. Like I was saying, it wasn't really all that different underneath. Just a different framework/christmas tree and looong linkages for the steering.
I bet BigWally's got pictures :D We'll see.

OK David, we don't have photos of that bike yet, but Leo Kuipers has shown us these photos, Rolf Biland on a similar machine earlier.

This should give you an idea. Webbo did ride Bosiger's bike and says

"Will have a look Steve English, see what I can find, remember it scared the life out of me when I had a go on it in France :D "

" It handled so much different to a std LCR chassis, I only had one lap in it at Paul Riccard , tried to take the corner after the long straight flat in fifth as we did on ours, not sure how we managed to get round it, but that was it, straight back up the pit lane..................... Never went near it again"

Hi
Markus Bösiger is racing trucks now. He also had a tyre buiseness in swizerland.
Maybe you find him in this scene to ask for more details.
bye Eckart

According to Lukas Wyssen it does still exist

I said "Bosigers is still like that? I'm surprised, I thought it would have been put back as normal and sold on"
No, you can watch it in his restaurant in Langental. Absolutly original and complete, webbos one is also there

Thanks for posting the great photos, it's nice to see something a little different. It doesn't look like there's as much room in it as I'd imagined. If as Steve Webster said it doesn't handle as good as a standard LCR and it was ineligible for points, then it begs the question why build it?. I guess that's something only Bosinger can answer. That being said it's still looks great.

There's the same room in it no matter which way you sit :)
