Australian TT road race proposal - support needed!

For a few years now I have been working on getting an Australian version of the IoMTT off the ground and I'm pretty close to succeeding in Queensland. I have the police on side, as well as main roads, the councils and some pretty heavyweight sponsors too.

Meetings were held last week by the Sunshine Coast Council (a bustling but still relatively unspoilt county in Queensland, north of Brisbane) to inform locals whose homes lie on the actual track. I presented the concept to them and it got pretty heated with some definite naysayers but a show of hands revealed a 60-70% split in favour of the race, which surprised everyone (most especially the naysayers).

Those meetings fired up a lot of media interest and we were forced to come out with an FB page so it didn't look like we were hiding anything. That all happened last week and today the Sunshine Coast International TT FB page is about to roll past 5000 'likes', which is pretty good for just 6 days.

The naysayers have also set up a competitive FB page and while it has only 145 'likes', they are going to be very loud in their protests to 'the event.

In response, the Sunshine Coast Council has started a Change. org petition where people can vote for the event (or not) and leave their comments. We've been told we need as many international signatures on this survey as possible. And that's where you come in.
Could you please circulate the link to this survey and ask them to sign it and share the link? All they have to say is that the Sunshine Coast International TT would be great for Queensland and the world of motorcycling. Be good if they could also say they'd come along if it got up.

I think this race has a very good chance of getting over the line - 47km loop, 400+ corners, spectacular scenery. It will be an FIM-sanctioned time trial. The FB page has all the details. Our plan is to link up with the IoMTT and put it forward for the world road-race championship that has been mooted over the years.

Well, that's about it, really. If your buddies could fill in the very short survey (and pass it along to their pals, it just may be the push we need. Can you help, please?
