Hi sorry to bother yas. I'm looking to try my hand at being a passenger for someone but I'm in need of some guidance. I have these 2018 ACU licence forms in front of me and I'm slightly puzzled about what to fill in, club number, novice passenger etc. I'm 175cm tall and 11st and a willing horse so hopefully someone could point me in the right direction. Totally new to this btw. Oh and I'm 32 and ride a vfr800...
Thanks

Re: How to become a passenger etc...
You'll need to get yourself on an ACU passenger course before you can apply for a licence.
Get in touch with the ACU and ask them where there are any courses - several clubs do them at the start of the season. Try looking for NG racing, Darley Moor to name a couple - but best bet is to ask the ACU and also keep checking on here.
Once you've done the passenger course (practical and an very easy multiple choice test) then you'll get a pass form, which you can send off with your licence form. You'll need to join a club who'll then give you an ACU code which is what you need to put on the form.
Send it all off and a novice licence and an orange bib should arrive in the post - then you just need to try and find a ride - check the "passengers wanted section" for people looking for someone new. Don't ever over state your experience - it'll just end in tears.

The second post down in this section "getting started by Nev Jones" will give you all the information you will probably need.

Excellent, good luck and let us know when you're coming to a meeting. I'm sure we can introduce you to people who will help with advice and some of it may even be useful (*1)
(*1) don't hold your breath
Actually that's probably the best advice, don't hold your breath. It's really easy to forget to breathe and end up frozen and with arm pump etc.

Where in the country are you based? That will probably have some influence on which club you join.

I'm in Bradford but willing to travel wherever really, but obviously up north would be better. Kinda itching to have a go if I'm honest 🏍
