Honda 600 in 1987 ?

Hello everybody !
A question from Sweden.
Can anyone recall if there was anybody using Honda CBR 600 engine in 1987 ?

Our classic regulation is saying that engine must have been used for racing pre -87.
We have three of these engine and if they was used in -87 we would trying to find a complete chassie
and start racing.

If I remember correctly, it was 1988 when they were first used???
F2 for the TT in 1990 it was 350 2 strokes & 600 4 strokes, the year 1000cc twins were banned from the TT.
Geoff Bell could throw some light on this.
