Does anyone know what year the F2 class was introduced?

At the TT it was introduced as a subclass in 1984
The first British F2 championship was held in 1985
At club level, Auto 66 ran an F2 class in 1983

It was 1000cc 4-Stroke twin engines.
And I only saw one BMW with chain final drive.

I ran a Puma Weslake engine.
Vince Winstanley & also the Hogg brothers ran BMW engines with Krauser 4 valve heads.
There were also Triumph Weslakes, Triumph, BSA, etc.
