BRAKE DISCK

HALLO AND EXCUSEME FOR MY ENGLISH.I M FROM ITALY AND I HAVE AN OLD SIDECAR DERBISHIRE WITH YAMAHA FZR 600 ENGINE.THE BIKE IS FROM AROUND 1988.NOW I M MAKING A SECOND REAR WHEEL FOR WET ROAD.I NEED TO KNOW THE MODEL OF THE BRAKE DISK THAT IS MOUNTED ON MY FIRST WHEEL SO I CAN BUY IT.I DON T KNOW IF IT IS A OLD BIKE DISK OR IS A MODEL FOR CAR.THE DISK HAVE 5 HOLES AND HAVE EXTERNAL DIAMETER 234 MILLIMETRI AND INTERNAL DIAMETER ABOUT 58 MILLIMETRI.NOW I TRY TO ATTACH SOME PHOTOS.I HOPE ON YOUR HELP .THANK YOU.

The discs that John used were items that were a standard car fitment, not really sure of the make or model, possibly Ford Cortina.

thank you for the answer I hope somebody havo other data about this brake disc.I have tryed to search some model of consul cortina but no good result.I see on this site some photos of sidecar from 80/90 and I see that this kind of brake disc are also on other bike....

I also have a Derbyshire with these disks, as does a friend who is also looking for discs
It would be good if they are from a car, but I don't think so, they are too thin, and with a small, 8mm 5 hole bolt pattern and tapered offset, I don't see how they could bolt up to a car wheel hub? They couldn't be sandwiched with the wheel studs that's for sure.

I do have 3 different types of dics-
The same as above, 1 piece machines with offset

Some that are flat, with a spacer for the offset (easy to make these)

And some made that are flat, then bolt to an adapter plate. These could come from a car as they have a large centre hole and larger mounting holes, but still very thin to have come from a car I think, and 8 mounting holes seems an odd number

Thank you.do you know is someone sell a disc for me?my discs look like that in your first photo.your considerations about the discs are true but I think that who build the derbyscire side bike take the discs from a car or motorbike application...

When John built my outfit new (which is still in the garage) - it has the same discs as Adriano's outfit, I remember him telling me they were from a car, trouble is after all the passing years I cannot remember which make or model he told me it was.
I do know that over the years John was building outfits he did use different suppliers for his wheels and brakes.

You'll probably find that they were car discs but modified for the offset, thickness and diameter.

hallo there is no problem to modify the thickness and diameter the big problem is the offset,it would be important to find a car disc whit the same offset of mine....

This is why we make them from scratch to a drawing as it can be difficult to find an original disc that is close enough to modify correctly.

The disc in the original pictures is a Windle disc,made from scratch by Terry himself,on a Windle wheel.
As Sam says,they can make them,they made some for our TZ a couple of years ago the offset on your disc is probably 1/4".
Get Sam to make you some,it will be money well spent.

Fanch tells me that John Derbyshire used Terry Windle wheels, forks and a few other bits, so in all logic they are windle disks.
Is Dave Cheesman still making windle bits ?

Dishes maybe Windle but I think the hub isn't ???, I could be wrong though?
