To all FSRA British F2 and Pre Injection Sidecar teams and sponsors.
Just to give you an update I am keeping in touch with all the host clubs, who in turn are in touch with the ACU
On 28th January 2021 the FSRA committee met via Zoom and it was confirmed that currently there are no changes to our plans for the 2021 season, as set out for each championship
Obviously the current lockdown restrictions are more severe than we had hoped for, but on the other hand significant progress has been made in the approval and distribution of vaccines, so hopefully in the next month or two we will begin to see a reduction in the numbers infected and an easing of the lockdown, which will enable our sport to recommence in both England and Wales. We will see what Scotland plan.
All Clubs are sensing that there may be a delay to the start of the season,
Our dates are currently unchanged
My only reservation is perhaps the test day at Mallory on 19th March may be effected, but will keep you posted as we go along,
NG will allocate track time on Friday 16thApril at Brands for Sidecars in the afternoon however, however Donington and Combe both have noise restrictions that F2’s definitely won’t get through on Friday test events.
We anticipate Easter will be some sort of target for Central Government to aim for in unlocking events. The danger is if they decide to regionalise lock down’s, unlike last year, it will be almost impossible to run legally due to so much crossing over of tier’s for riders getting to and from events. As we are still 3 months away, we will plan as though we are live as advertised from mid April and see what happens.
Clubs are just finalising the regs and entry forms so these should be out within the next 2/3 weeks.
Registration is now open and the registration date is extended to 24th February
