As some of you already know unfortunately we lost dad yesterday. He was fit and healthy and did his usual 25 mile bike ride on Sunday however on Monday he woke up with covid symptoms, after his test came back negative he just thought it was an infection and he started on antibiotics. Wednesday morning he was getting worse, we called an ambulance however he walked in chatting and making jokes wearing his crocs and carrying his bag for life. Following test at Scunthorpe he got transferred over to Castle Hill and late Wednesday evening we got a call to say the suspected he had developed acute leukaemia and the condition was progressing aggressively, we can just throw in some sepsis for good measure. They got an action plan in place and started on chemo but yesterday after seeing no signs of improvement and a conversation with the consultants we decided the best thing to do was to let dad go peacefully with his girls by his side
