Re: FIM Sidecar World Championship Round four Most
Qualifying two report from Mark Walters
FIM Sidecar World Championship
Most,
Qualifying Two.
“Schlosser, Schmidt, last minute pole”
The sun is shining, it is warm, a slight breeze here in Most. The depleted sidecar field took to the track for qualifying 2.
The top three teams went out did a couple of laps at the most then all came back into pit lane, and it was a waiting game. Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau sat watching the timing screens, they in the end did not set a time, but they were ready to go if things were getting tight with the lap times. Sam and Tom Christie did four laps but were the same as Payne and Rousseau they kept an eye on the timing screens. Markus Schlosser and Luca Schmidt did six laps in total, they too were in pit lane for most of the session, but as the session was coming to a close they decided to go out, boom! On their sixth lap they set the fastest time of the weekend so far a 1:40.309, good for pole position.
Payne and Rousseau will line up in second spot, with the Christie brothers heading row two in third.
Paul Leglise and Marjorie Cescutti had a good Q2, they improved their Q1 time, a 1:42.802, and they will line up next to the Christie brothers on row two.
Rupert Archer and Ondrej Sedlacek will head row three with a Q1 time of 1:43.662. Joni and Tero Maninnen had a good Q2, they improved their time good for sixth spot.
Row four will be headed by Kevin Cable and Charlie Richardson, they did not improve their time from Q1 but they think it will be a good battle in the race.
Next to Cable and Richardson will be Markus Venus and Thomas Hofer, they improved in Q2, and their time was 1:45.513.
Wiggert Kranenburg and Jermaine Middegaal also improved their Q1 time, team are happy, passenger Middegaal feels a lot happier today he is back in the swing of things. They will be doing some small adjustments to their machine before the race this afternoon.
The 10 lap sprint race will start at 14.45 local time.

Re: FIM Sidecar World Championship Round four Most
Race one report from Mark Walters
FIM Sidecar World Championship.
Most,
Race one.
“Payne and Rousseau command”
The 10 lap Sprint race was held under cloudless skies and
temperatures in the high twenties.
Rupert Archer would be starting the race with a fever he has not been feeling well for the last two days.
When the lights went out it was Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau on the inside to take the lead, Markus Schlosser and Luca Schmidt were second, Paul Laglise and Marjorie Cescutti had a great start and slotted into third with Sam and Tom Christie in fourth, Rupert Archer and Ondrej Sedlaek had to take to the off track chicane, they were to rejoin in eighth. Joni and Tero Maninnen were on the inside line in fifth with Kevin Cable and Charlie Richardson sixth on the outside of the Maninnen’s, Markus Venus and Thomas Hofer eighth with Wiggert Kranenberg and Jermaine Middegaal at the back.
Lap two saw Schlosser and Schmidt take to the off track chicane at the first corner, Schlosser had a problem with his handlebars; they were to rejoin in fifth place.
Lap three saw Leglise and Cescutti have a big moment in a full gas right hander, The Christie brothers had got passed them into second place they were trying to catch Payne and Rousseau, but Leglise and Cescutti were with them when the incident happened, the back of the outfit broke away leaving them running wide into the kitty litter, remarkably driver Leglise held onto it, they were full sideways coming back onto the track with the chair wheel way up in the air, he checked over his shoulder for Cescutti, all was ok with her, it was back onto the throttle for the team, The Maninnen’s following had a grand stand view of the incident.
Schlosser and Schmidt were on the charge, they got up into third place but not before having a good battle with Leglise and Cescutti for a couple of laps. The gap to the front was too big to make a challenge on the two leaders though.
Archer and Sedlacek were on the charge too, they were making up places.
Lap five saw Kranenberg pull into pit lane without his passenger, Middegaal had parted company with the outfit, he was a bit battered and bruised but back in the pit garage after the race.
The end of the race, the chequred flag came out for Payne and Rousseau for another race win. The Christie brothers took second, with Schlosser and Schmidt third.
Leglise and Cescutti took a good fourth. Archer and Sedlacek fought hard and eventualy took fifth place. Sixth place went to the Maninnen’s, with Cable and Richardson seventh just in front of Venus and Hofer in eighth.
Tomorrow there will be a 17 lap race starting at 13.05 local time.

Re: FIM Sidecar World Championship Round four Most
Race two report from Mark Walters
FIM Sidecar World Championship,
Most,
Race two.
“Schlosser and Schmidt Triumph”
Sunshine all around, temperatures in the thirties, 17 laps were going to be hard.
Wiggert Kranenburg was to start the race; however he would have Lucas Krieg for his passenger. Kranenburg’s normal passenger Jermaine Middegaal fell from the sidecar yesterday and could not race today, but with Lennard Gottlich unable to race due to technical problems, Lucas Krieg was able to help out.
As the sidecar teams lined up on the start line for the race there was a good crowd waiting in anticipation to see who would emerge from the tight first chicane first.
It was Markus Schlosser and Luca Schmidt with Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau second; Sam and Tom Christie were third, Paul Leglise and Marjorie Cescutti were next up but Rupert Archer and Ondrej Sedlacek were right beside them, but Leglise and Ceccutti came out in fourth, Kevin Cable and Charlie Richardson were next up behind Archer and Sedlacek. Markus Venus and Thomas Hofer had Joni and Tero Maninnen beside them for the placing. Kranenburg and Krieg brought up the rear.
Lap two saw Payne and Rousseau take the lead from Schlosser and Schmidt, there was a good old battle behind them between Leglise/Cescutti and the Christie brothers, Leglise and Cescutti were to come out in third. Archer and Sedlacek were right with the Christie brothers battling for the fourth place.
There was a great battle going on between Cable/Richardson, the Maninnen’s and Venus/Hofer these three teams were passing and re passing each another.
Lap three saw Payne and Rousseau pull off track for a DNF, they had a technical problem. This let Leglise and Cescutti take the lead from Schlosser and Schmidt with the Christie brothers in third but Archer and Sedlacek were not too far off them. Meanwhile the battle went on between Cable/Richardson, Maninnen and Venus/Hofer. Kranenburg and Krieg were steady away at the back.
Half distance, after fending off Schlosser/Schmidt for so many laps Schlosser/Schmidt made the pass for the lead over Leglise and Cescutti, the Christies were closing them down too, they did eventually get passed and set off after Schlosser/Schmidt. These three teams were gradually pulling away from Archer and Sedlacek in fourth.
The battle behind saw Maninnen, Venus/Hofer pass Cable and Richardson, but Cable/Richardson were right on their tails.
Lap fourteen, Kranenburg and Krieg entered pit lane for a DNF, they had a technical fault.
On lap fifteen the Maninnen’s blew their engine, they limped into pit lane too; they stopped their machine just after the entry to pit lane.
Schlosser/Schmidt were out in front of the Christie brothers with Leglise/Cescutti holding third, there was a good gap from them to the fourth place team of Archer and Sedlacek. Cable and Richardson had managed to get back passed Venus and Hofer and were starting to make a small gap.
The chequred flag came out to a delighted team Schlosser on pit wall, they took the win.
The Christie brothers took a good second, and they had the fastest lap of the race, a time of 1:41.247.
A great third place for Leglise and Cescutti, their first time in the top three and on the podium.
Archer and Sedlacek fought hard all weekend and were rewarded with a good fourth place, albeit it turning out to be a lonely race for them.
Cable and Richardson also fought hard over the weekend, they managed to stay in front of Venus and Hofer to take a good fifth place, Venus and Hofer Sixth.
It was a depleted field for the weekend, but today’s race saw some great battles throughout.
The next round will be at Assen, Netherlands, this will be the 15th to 17th August.
