Re: LCR F2. Gotta be the best ever.
although ive never spannerd an f eleven lcr, i have gleaned, from those who should know, that they are too lively at the back over the bumps. From our rather extensive experience of different chasis, the best all round package is a well set up Baker. Followed very closely by Sir Terry's finest and for Mona's Isle an Ireson is hard to better.
I dont like paint on a chassis, it makes me nervous, but i dont like 6 hour cleaning sessions either.

Good points spanner bloke. I would still like to hear from someone with riding expierience of a few different F2`s to see how they compare.

OK Alan, you asked, so providing you do want serious informed replies, and you’re not just ‘bull baiting’ then I would have to say, as others have said, that sidecars are essentially a matter of personal preference, there is no real right and wrong in most cases.
My comments in respect of the LCR F2 chassis is that it is a pretty bike with some good ideas, but with a price tag of €20,000 +Vat +delivery, for that money I think the build quality can only be described as poor.
As for "The best ever" ...sorry, don't think so. Sidecars with a far better build quality and engineering can be sourced from UK manufacturers for a much more realistic price.
As for the durability that you mentioned, I believe that like the LCR F1 bike, it should stand up to racing on short circuits, but again like the LCR F1 chassis, I don’t believe that they are totally ‘fit for purpose’ as far as the TT is concerned, as many of the current owners have experienced problems of one sort or another when pitted against the rigors of a bumpy road circuit such as TT, that isn’t to say that other makes don’t have problems, just that they would appear to be less prevalent.
From a handling point of view it would appear that the head angle and steering geometry in general lead to a very positive and ‘quick’ handling profile, again not something that is desirable for most drivers on road circuits, although there will always be some drivers who will be able to set them up to there liking.
These comments are mine only and are by no means exhaustive or definitive, ……. Just a reply to your question.

Good post Wal. Thats what people will want to read. No, no bull baiting, weve got sections here full of that. Its a serious topic i think. It would be interesting to talk to people who have driven various chassis. Just for my own interest really. Its the only F2 ive driven so i know nothing. Well, apart from the 350 i had in 1989
I love it. Best fun ive ever had on 3 wheels.

Hang on a mo .... If the LCR is the best why would you want to order from another builder
Or have you found a way of riding more tha one at a time

Mainly, because ive always wondered. It seems the answers to these questions sre not widely known. Maybe if chassis builders want to sell (thats how they make their money i assume) their product its a good chance to get it into the open for all to see. Anyway, we have veered off topic

If they wanted to advertise I know just the place they could do it, I know a website that has a huge sidecar readership
(Louis Christen already does btw

Re: LCR F2. Gotta be the best ever.
Hello all,
Well im no expert ( thats for sure), but did get a chance to have a good look at said F2,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, mmm well if i was going to spend that kind of money, i think id be talking to Mike Richards,, what i saw wasnt good, yes there are some realy good ideas on them but for every plus theres a minus, IMHO the balance does not swing to the plus side,,,,,,,,,,,, But then im biased i still want an independant England.

I think you will find the prices will vary depending what your specification is, LCR offer prices based on different spec. All i know is they are all too expensive
