Dick, I don't want to put a spanner in the works of what I hope is going to be a great and much needed championship.
As I understand the Southern 100 Club (Pre TT races) are looking at putting on a race especially for this championship as well as two normal races, but if as you say five out of six rounds count, what is the likelyhood of teams dropping the Isle of Man round due to the expense of getting here.I know that some of the Dutch have already talked of entering before the championship was mentioned, but how many other teams from other countries have shown an interest in what could be a very expensive trip.
As I say I don't want to sound negative, but a bad show could get a bad reaction from the S100 club who after a good few years have agreed to put more sidecar races on.
It would be brilliant for sidecars and also Ben and yourself if there was a grid full for this championship.

Whatcha Timbo ......I hope the neck/back is doing ok.

The final arrangements have yet to be agreed with Mr Peach. However many of the
Camathias Cup entrants will be doing the Pre TT meeting, and may be part of the existing
races.....not in their own race. The cost and time needed will trim the numbers somewhat.

[To visit and compete on the Isle of Man is the dream of most continental crews]

How can you have a Camathias Cup without including the Island, where he had so many
memorable rides both on the Clypse course and the Mountain circuit, I and other old gits well
remember him riding his race outfit through the Mersey Tunnel to Liverpool when his transporter
broke down on the way to the TT. To hear him plunging down Bray hill on his Gilera 4 outfit is
one of my greatest memories.

Let Sport be the winner

Can you confirm that engines over 1,000cc will be able to run in the over 750cc class? I read somewhere that it is 750-1,000cc.

As far as we have decided, it's going to be -750 and over 750 (as in Belgium rules)

Hi Folks. Registrations are coming in fast. We already have an Italian and a Swiss crew in addition
the expected ones. Contact your national delegate soon or risk being left out [blah.gif]

Hi Dick, I have registered our interest via the link provided above by Ben but to date I have received no confirmation of receipt. Can someone confirm that all enquiries will/have been responded to?

Thanks mate!

Hello all,
Just one more date to be confirmed - anytime day now I hope.
Had a lot of applications to date, soon as I have the final list I will email all who registered for first refusal. Six permanent teams will then be put forward, for the rest I will do what I can for the rounds you wish to compete.
As far as I am aware, other countries have not yet collected registration fees, if they have, it will NOT have any influence on space for UK teams. I had decided I would not collect any monies until teams knew the calendar.
Any questions, please ask, you will hear very soon

Just a point,if the grids take the teams first does it mean that anyone else does not get a ride or will there be a separate race at these meetings solely for the Camaithius Cup,,or will grid places increase ?

Looking at the dates, most of them will be a seperate race I would say. Any that aren't will still have some spaces in any case

In answer to Peters point. Is he saying that when we organise a race specifically for our members, he is
entitled to an extra race even though if he is not part of the series.

I am sure we could apply to the FIM to have the maximum allowed starters increased for him.

Perhaps we should ask the organising club to write to Peter so that he can tell them why he ought to have
special entitlement....perhaps even a race on his own.

Should our event be part of an already existing race, then the organiser will choose who THEY wish to accept,
not our problem.

I think your wording is a bit harsh Mr H I was thinking the very same thing as Peter I don't want to commit to a series that I might not be able to do all the rounds but would still like to race at Chimay and Gedinne, so what happens to the regulars not doing your series that have raced at these venues for the last few years. Maybe I'm being a bit naive i don't know, as you know I'm still quite new to this great sport.
