Is the chassis your dad's that I remember from the early 70's?
I remember Roger Dutton at Silverstone in 1972????
If that was the year there is a good possibillity that he was on the grid for the
1972 Silverstone International. There's a picture of the start on the inside cover of George O'Dells book Sidecar Championship. I may be getting mixed up with 1973 but I defo remember him there.

Suerly the value is what you are prepared to pay for it? The spec of the engine, chssis, brakes etc. will all have a bearing on it. To say it is 'not bad' is way to vague I think you will find for anyone to even offer a guess. Any pics of what it looks like now?

Eddy said buy it. If it's for sentimental value for your dad then you can't put a price on it. If you've got the money, buy it! Your a long time dead

It's certainly a good looking bike, if you've got a sentimental attachment for you, it's worth what you're prepared to pay.

I'm a bit of a sucker for BM's anyway. That's what I really wanted, but seem to have ended up with another Imp.

Ed, can I have a go on yours? ;)

When i had dealings with the bike in the 70's it had a 900 road motor, running backwards, i believe due to Rensport box and drive. If this is still the case and the bike is in reasonable nick I would say 10 to 15k, Lower end if road box and drive has been fitted, and as you say its been neglected.

Oh and the photo was taken prior to classic lap in 1979, I know I towed it to the island behind a Thames van, Enfield to Liverpool at 45mph, what fun.

Well if you read in between the lines that tells you what it may be worth if your lucky and get it for less and polish it up a bit you may well have a line forming to buy if it were me under similar circumstances it would have been in my shed days ago assuming the price was not too exessive however some people tend to be over optimistic in value these days if you ask a fair price though you sell it !

we went to see the bike yesterday and it is 100% dads bike ,all oridginal apart from the paint we can even se the patch where he tipped over in practice. but it is rusty , bit are loose, pipes are of has not turned a wheel in 22 years and have no idea if it even runs. thats the good part the bad part is if we dont give them 16000 pounds for it they are shipping it back to japan next month. surely it cant be worth that sort of money, or is it ???? i will put some photos on later.
time for me to make up my mind ??
