Brilliant photos, Bob. Jim mentioned Horst Burkhard. That's him on the left in the photo outside the van with Luigi Taveri on the right. HB is the youngest passenger to ever win a GP with Fritz in 1959. Must get out more....

You are right Geoff
a number of the sidecar crews used to do Continental grass meetings with their normal outfit minus fairing
Continental grass circuits are not like the usual English ones, they are purpose built ovals like an enlarged speedway circuit with permanent trackside facilities and billiard table smooth. Often the bends are cambered too. Have been to several grass tracks over here and all that I have seen are very impressive
