Hi all, We are currently running a Facet pump and a Sytec adjustable fuel regulator. When testing at Mallory yesterday the bike decided to start over fueling which we have chased to the regulator playing up. As this is the second time we have had an issue is there a better alternative to the Sytec (it is a chrome round dial item with increments numbered 1-5 with marking at each half too. We run this on position 1 which I guess is 1 psi).

or, a cheaper option, clamp the fuel pipe between your teeth.

Had half a season of flooding with a Facet solid-state before we threw it away and went back to a good old SU

Cheers Nick. Have seen those but wasn't sure if anyone was using one. How do they adjust?

Ian - if using an SU ensure that you do not use a Mini pump as they are high pressure as they blow rather than suck

SU??? Bob we are running Amals (assume the SU is a carb - be a real pain in the bum to get one working on a Triple!)

You back the 7/16" dome nut off, it's just a locking nut, and your adjust the flow with the 1/2" AF nut underneath it. (clockwise to decrease the pressure) Then you put the locknut back on.

The SU Bob is refering to is a fuel pump. The Mini pump is a push pump and the Morris 1000 pump is a pull pump. Im stuck back in the early 70s here by the way and we were using Amal mark one carbs back then.

I've had an idea.............
To save weight, do away with the fuel pump.
If you passed the fuel pipe between the passengers arse cheeks, when he (or she) clenched their arse on the way in to each corner, it would act like a peristaltic pump!

We ran a mechanical pump off an an eccentric band inside the sidecar wheel rim - never any probs ...

Facet do a low pressure pump. Demon tweeks have them. However the best is the SU pump as used on a Morris 1000 ,and they are still available not expensive. Either pump will run fine without a pressure regulator.

Eccentric band? Like Jethro Tull? How does that work when you're not moving? I call bluff :-p

Easy, when not moving passenger is STR so said redundant object lifts sidecar wheel off ground and spins wheel ocasionally - KISS
