New circuit is really good. We raced there for the Dutch championship. It looks like a Micky mouse circuit from the side but when your on it it's nothing like it.

What's it like from the inside a bit of a Donald Duck. The main reason we go to Belgium is because apart from here on the island there are no road circuits. So if we want to race on these Mickey circuits we can go to the likes of Three Sisters or even Jurby!
Also as Dick will confirm the beer and omelette's are far better in Belgium

The other week I sent an email to the secretary of the CRMB enquiring about licence for smelly solo.
He came back and said two meetings this year Chimay and Gedinne, I have made further enquires
and definately no Mettet Road circuit and no Classics at Mettet Short Circuit due to losses last year.
Also Ostend has gone from the calender for next year also.

obviously they are suffering with the recession with lack of entries, does it mean though that if enough people were interested that they might re`instate the classic races on the proper circuit :?:

I guess that Roland will be the man to ask, after all he is a good guy (Well he feeds me wine and is a Passenger :) so if your reading this Roland let us know what you think the future is for the Mettet Road Circuit?

such a shame, I think it's problems with noise and insurance, not lack of entrances (there were enough last year)

only 3 meetings (Croix, Chimay, Gedinne)

For me, it's not a championship !

You would wonder why noise is a problem at Mettet, its a fair way from the town and in the middle of an industrial estate,in fact when the bikes are halfway down the long straight you cant hear them anymore I thought any insurance problems were solved with "higher premiums"

What about asking for a classic sidecar race at the modern Mettet meeting
I visited Antoin Smit at Gedinne several years ago and suggested the same.He phoned the Belgium Federation
whilst I was with him and hey presto the classics started there. Seb Barr my super passenger knows the
Mettet organisers well. I shall ask him to investigate on our behalf....watch this space

I believe Roland did not make sufficient money out of this years Mettet short circuit for him to continue.
at Jehonville the bar profits were enormous compared with Mettet.
