Aintree 10 Aug 2013

Unread post by Fritz »

With this being the penultimate round of the 2013 Ace of Aintree series all was set for a great days racing with nice weather to complete the day. The F2 sidecar championship could easily be sewn up provided the crew of Alan Founds and Tom Peters completed the points race in front of Craig and Kirsty Hauxwell.

The F1 championship was still to be decided between Robert and Phil Biggs and Aintree stalwart Dave Holden passengered by Heath Fairbrother.

Thanks for those kind words, Fritz!

As I'm only in my second season as a passenger, I'm still not REALLY sure whether I'm doing it right. I owe a huge debt to Mr. Founds Senior for his advice last year on how to take that particular left-hander. We had a great day, but I felt over-awed to be on the same grid as Moly, John Holden and Darren Hope. Please introduce yourself if you're there in September, we may have cake! (Actually, we will definitely have cake).

Claire.

Great to meet you Fritz, thanks for making yourself known and great photo's too. :notworthy:

I was happier to stay the right way up and I didn't realise till I got home but I did my fastest lap and got a new PB and considering how my day started off and how I felt thats pretty amazing, very happy. :D

Many thanks to my passenger Dave Clark, not just for getting on with me but also for his advice on how to take the corners giving me that new PB. :notworthy:

Well done Mark,

Congratulations on your PB! We had great fun scrapping with you, and the improvement between your first and last race was fantastic. I'm glad you're feeling happier now, see you next time.

Thanks Claire, I was definatly lacking in confidence at the beginning of the day and lots of people helped with that, thanks to everyone that spoke to me and thanks to Joe Heys for his support once again. :notworthy:
