Camathias Cup update
Hello Good people
As some of you will be aware, due to personal reasons Juan has decided to step down from the organisational side of our Camathias Cup, but I am sure we would all like to thank him for what he has done and look forward to seeing him riding like a demon on the track.
I’m pleased to say that it’s business as usual for our Camathias Cup meetings in 2014 and everything will be going ahead according to plan.
The good news is, to keep things simple machine eligibility for all European rounds will be as per CRMB 750 Classic and 1300 Classic classes. UK races including Pre TT will be as per CMRC 750 Classic and 1300 Classic classes. Please enter all meetings in the usual way with the meeting organisers, if not noted on their entry form, please advise them if you wish to compete in their Camathias Cup race.
Further good news is that we have been lucky enough to engage some new folk who are willing to put up some trophies for our series, details will be posted soon on the CC website along with all other updates.
Information regarding series registration with your country Delegates will also be confirmed soon on the CC website.
Any questions contact me on ace.dick.hawes@gmail.com
Happy racing, Dick

Re: Camathias Cup update
As you say Dick it's a shame Juan has decided to call it a day. Someone who hasn't been involved with the chairs for long has made a brilliant effort and dedicated a lot of hours to this project. He has managed to organise meetings with clubs who have never had much interest in classics and obtained sponsorship from different companies who he deals with for this year. Hopefully they will continue their support even though Juan won't be organising the meetings. Could prove tricky though.
Correct me if I am wrong but I think the one of the main reasons for him giving up is that some people seem to be going out their way to put a spanner in the works all the time. Mostly over stupid things to do with the rules and litigation etc. what ever that is. Surely the idea of the club is that people involved are out to enjoy themselves. Shoot me down in flames, but I think most are to old to be world champions now!
So cut the back stabbing and whinging and smile and have fun, before the others involved with organising say stick you as well!!!!

Only! Hope nobody lost a championship because of this.
Also meant to say that I have heard that Juan had already got 15 or 16 signed up for this year, so compared to one or two whingers I think thats a good percentage and as they say if your not happy go and annoy someone else!!

Whatcha superpassenger
The numbers are much better than that. We are trying to encourage more wild cards from afar to make it truly International.
Another two good things this year are a 'Ladies' trophy and a 'consistency' trophy which gives crews with less expensive
outfits a chance of silverwear. [ the backbone of racing is the midfield and tail enders]
As you would agree "let the sport be the winner"

Hi Tim.There is no restriction on who submits to the blog.If that impression was given it was a mistake and I appologise.
EVERYONE'S opinion is welcome. Drivers, passengers, mechanics, sponsors and spectators
As example of our open attitude I ask you all for your suggestions on a few issues.
We have new sponsors.......what new awards should we give ? "best female achievement" "most consistent crew of the series" or what
What about "GUEST CREWS for certain rounds. I have my 750 MRE outfit and I am getting too old.
I have spoken to a certain multiple TT Winner who is considering riding my bike in one of our rounds.
There will be others but many Continental Classic stars are used to a right hand sidecar.
SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

,
Dick,
Just had a thought if I shave my beard, talk in a squeaky voice and go and have the operation would I be eligible for the "ladies class"it might be my only chance of fame, and in the event of my making the podium I could strip off and prove that I have had the "extra 50cc" removed

Hi Dick,
Pleased to hear you have new sponsors. When will the announcement be made to say who they are. I think it is great that one of the trophies you are going to give is for the people who are trying. I can think of one or two who should get them.

Great news to hear about these extra sponsors. Just what we need to boost the Camathias cup series.

Re: Camathias Cup update
Hi Dick,
I hope I have been misinformed, but I was told today there are no longer any Dutch representatives for the Camathias Cup. If this is true you must nearly be having to do everything yourself.Chairman, secretary, treasurer and now Cloggy rep. Why are they all jumping ship just before the season starts.
